WCC: churches r & l carriers Sunday to commemorate World Peace for Palestine - Israel | GKI Synod
World Council of Churches (WCC) invites member churches, religious organizations, as well as the entire community r & l carriers to commemorate the chorus r & l carriers Sunday World Peace for Palestine-Israel on September 22 to 28, with prayers, carrying out activities, as well as the voice of justice and peace in Palestine.
An initiative of the Palestine-Israel Ecumenical Forum (Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum / PIEF), Sunday World Peace for Palestine-Israel is a call to stop Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian land, emphasizing the importance of justice and peace for every human.
This theme is aligned with the vision of Kairos document issued by Palestinian Christian leaders in 2009. This document states that Jerusalem is a city that is "inhabited by two people with three religions, and on top of this prophetic vision and related international agreements totality of Jerusalem is any political solution must be based".
Individuals, groups and churches who participated Sunday commemorates World Peace 2013 will hold special activities that invite the faithful to pray together churches in occupational life, with a special prayer from Jerusalem, and also other materials which has been prepared for the anniversary week.
This week was also invited to perform actions on the educational reality of life in the region, especially for those who are connected with the city of Jerusalem. Advocacy actions that emphasize the ecumenical decrees to produce justice and peace among political leaders is also highly recommended.
As part of the Sunday World Peace for Palestine-Israel r & l carriers in 2012 yesterday, the churches in at least 25 countries around the world to send a clear message to decision makers, community groups, and their congregations about the importance of the peace agreement that stops illegal occupation and ensure the rights and future of the Palestinian people and Israel.
"Sunday World Peace in Palestine-Israel understanding that emphasizes fairness between the Palestinians and Israel is an urgent necessity," said John Calhoun, r & l carriers organizers of Sunday World Peace in Palestine-Israel.
"This r & l carriers week will bring together the voices that urged world leaders called on Israel to comply with UN Security Council r & l carriers resolutions and stop its illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories. We remember also how to November 2012, the UN Assembly decided to accept Palestine as a non-member observer state. This decision provides encouragement to us in preparation for the week of peace, "he added.
